James D. Kane, 80, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born November 2, 1942, in Cadogan a son of the late Clarence and Gladys (Whiteman) Kane. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Kittanning High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force. Jim was of the Catholic faith. He worked for Eljers in Ford City for 10 years and retired as a security guard in 2004 from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. Jim was a member of Hilltop Hose Company in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, tinkering around in his best friend's garage, Bill Faulk, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pamela J. (Brukner) Kane, sons, Shawn P. (Mindy) Kane, of Brackenridge and Slade P. (Erika) Kane, of Natrona Heights, grandchildren, Samantha, Maddie and Slade Jr., sisters, Joy Hagofsky, of Kittanning and Donna (Donald) Higginson, of Missouri and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Scott P. Kane, brother, Paul Kane and sisters, Mary Kendall, Joanne Kane and Janice Neal.
Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Township.
