Amelia "Millie" S. (Minarik) Cook, 78, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was born December 24, 1943, in Natrona Heights to the late John and Veronica (Gajdos) Minarik. Millie resided in Natrona Heights most of her life. She was a 1961 graduate of Har-Brack High School. She resided in the Madison, Wisconsin area for 21 years, where she worked for the state of Wisconsin. She moved back to Natrona Heights in 1986. Millie worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel for 15 years before retiring and worked for Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a parishioner of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights. Millie was an avid Steeler, Penguin and Pirate fan. She loved Collecting dolls, as well as listening to Josh Groban and Celtic Thunder. She enjoyed doing yard work and took pride in her home. Millie loved spending time with her family, who will miss her dearly. Amelia is survived by her son, Michael (Lena) Cook, of Natrona, two granddaughters, Hannah and Erika Cook, of Natrona, sisters, Judie (Jeff) Pacek, Toni Horan and Jean (Ron) Ferdig, brother, Joe (Vicky) Minarik along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her brother, Steve "Bo" Minarik and by her sisters, Helen Pucko and Philomena "Phil" Potocnak.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with her pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. The Ladies of Charity of Guardian Angels Parish will hold services in the funeral home on Monday at 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Millie may be made to Guardian Angels Parish, Sacred Heart or Alzheimer's Foundation.
