Anne M. Popowicz

Anne M. (Gasienski) Popowicz, 94, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Rosebrook Assisted Living in Sarver. She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Russellton, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Lukasycyk Gasienski. Anne was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, in Natrona Heights. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Anne is survived by her children, R. Thomas (Grace) Popowicz, of Buffalo Township, Richard (Joann) Popowicz, of Summerfield, N.C., Nancy (Steve) Kass, of Washington, Norma Miller, of Latrobe, and Philip Popowicz (Barb Anderson), of Allegheny Township; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Popowicz, March 12, 2006; her son, Glenn Popowicz; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services for Anne were private. Officiating was her pastor, the Rev. James Mazurek. Burial followed in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Arrangements were under the care of the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., Natrona Heights.
