Carole J. (Ekas) Milito, 81, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born February 16, 1942, in Natrona, a daughter of the late George "Punk" and Pearl (Wilinski) Ekas. Carole was a 1959 graduate of Har-Brack High School. Carole was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, including many years at St. Joseph’s Church in Natrona. Carole served as a Eucharistic Minister and embraced visiting the sick to provide Holy Communion. She worked as a secretary for the principal at Highlands High School, and worked for the school district for 35 years. She loved her job at Highlands because she loved being around and helping the kids. Many may remember Carole sporting the brown and gold while working at the Golden Rams football and basketball games. She enjoyed shopping, vacationing in Hawaii and Sea Isle City, New Jersey, was an avid Sydney Crosby and Penguins fan, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Poipu Beach in Kauai was one of her favorite places. She was a most wonderful grandmother and took great joy in cheering on Alex in hockey, Nick in football, and Will, Helen, Evie, and Jake in soccer and swimming. She became a Notre Dame fan by default and some of her most memorable moments were rooting for the Irish at Notre Dame Stadium and for Erik at Notre Dame’s Bengal Bouts boxing tournament. Carole is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard A. Milito, children, Stacey (Stephan) Swentkowsky, of Mars and Erik (Beth) Milito, of Alexandria, Va., by her grandchildren, Alex and Nikolas Swentkowsky, and Will, Helen, Evie and Jake Milito, and by her cousin Deena (Joel) Carney who was like a sister, of Juno Beach, Fl.
