Casimir A. 'Case' Kowal, 92, formerly of New Mexico, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Elmcroft of Saxonburg. He was born November 8, 1923, in Homer City, a son of the late Gregory and Catherine Klinkiewicz Kowal. Case was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Orchard Lake, Michigan. He also attended Duquesne University for two years prior to being drafted into the US Army Air Corp, were he served as a captain from 1943-1947. Case was the founder and owner of Amador Studios in Las Cruces, NM, which he operated for 38 years. Along with his late wife, they were the owners of the franchise for the Miss USA New Mexico pageant for over 35 years. They were responsible for over 15 national and international winners during those years. He is survived by his sister Terry Dobradenka, of Brackenridge; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Smith Kowal in 2004; brothers, John, Rev. Michael.A., Andrew, Joseph, Frank and Adam Kowal; and by his sisters, Marie Kowal, Ann Malik and Angela Dudek. A blessing service was held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights. Officiating was the Rev. James Mazurek.
