Debra Nicewonger Troutman

May 15, 1953 — April 30, 2024

Buffalo Township

Debra Lee Nicewonger Jones Troutman, of Buffalo Township,  passed to eternity on Tuesday April 30, 2024 surrounded by
family and friends. Born on May 15, 1953, she was the daughter of Lloyd Nicewonger and Bessie Dawson
Nicewonger, mother of Lauren Jones, and grandmother of Jordan and Angel Jackson. Preceded in death
by her parents, daughter and granddaughter. Survived by her grandson Jordan, sister Earla Montgomery
(Kevin Blackburn), nephew Christopher (Jessica) and their children Dominick, Lydia and Clayton, husband
Joseph Troutman and former husband John Vincent Jones. She is also survived by many close friends
that are considered family.
Deb was proud of her Irish heritage and her family ties to the Revolutionary War. She loved God,
family, friends and especially animals, having raised horses, dogs, cats and an assortment of other
critters. From her father she learned a strict sense of duty and a strong work ethic. Throughout her life
she had many careers. She worked as a nurse, worked for Mellon Bank and was a color and print
consultant for graphic design firms. She also taught graduate level business classes at Duquesne
University. From her mother Deb inherited a generous spirit, always the first to offer food, aid and
comfort to those in need, ignoring her own considerable pain.
Endlessly creative, Deb could sew, arrange flowers, decorate for a party and was the best cook on
the block. Knowledgeable in many subjects, she wasn’t afraid to give advice. She held strong opinions on
everything and never hesitated to share them.
For those who knew her, Deb was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and our days will be a little less
bright now that she has gone to her reward. Even though we are happy that she has no more worries
and no more pain, we can’t but wish that she was still here with us. Deb will be terribly missed by those
who loved her.
