Diana Lynn "Dede" Faltot-Rittman, 70, of McCandless Township, passed away on Wednesday,
August 2, 2023. She was born November 20, 1952, in Natrona Heights to the late George J. and
Audrey (Anderson) Faltot. Dede received her Bachelors of Science degree in Education from
Edinboro University and also studied Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. Dede’s
teaching career extended over 37 years. She started her teaching in the English Department in the
Penn Hills School District and retired from the North Allegheny School District, where she taught
English and Theater. Dede loved music, shopping, going to the Rivers Casino, and spending time
with family and friends.
Dede is survived by her two brothers, George (Joan) Faltot, of Mercer and Brian (Jeannie) Faltot, of
Jacksonville, North Carolina, nephews, George (Christina) Faltot, Jason Faltot, Justin (Amy) Faltot,
Josh (Ashley) Faltot, Jonathan (Abigail) Faltot, Geoffrey (Kayla) Faltot and Derek Faltot, niece,
Leanne (Matt) Stiles, sister-in-law, Shari Rittman Garrett, nephews, Nicholas (Brandi) Garrett,
Christopher (Megan) Garrett, Thomas Garrett, and by several great nieces and great nephews. She
is also survived by many beloved friends, coworkers, and a multitude of students that she touched
throughout her lifetime. In addition to her parents, Dede was preceded in death by her husband, Scott
Kenneth Rittman on May 8, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.,
with a reception to follow at North Way Christian Community Church, 12121 Perry Hwy.,
Wexford, PA 15090.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Dede's memory, donations may be made to St. Paul’s United
Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101, and any animal shelters or
food banks of your choice.
