Dorothy (Berz) Dawson Acre, 90, formerly of Natrona Heights and Saxonburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden. She was born November 26, 1930, in Springdale. a daughter of the late Otto J.E. and Elma Grace (Schuman) Berz. Dorothy retired after 25 years of service from Allegheny Valley Hospital, where she worked as a unit clerk and medical records clerk. She was a member of Janes United Methodist Church in Creighton. Dorothy enjoyed reading, bus trips and in her younger years was an amateur painter. Dorothy is survived by her children, Edward (Kathy Vantine) Dawson, of Valencia, Roy (Luella) Dawson, of Saxonburg, James (Margie) Dawson, of Rimersburg, John (Michele) Dawson, of Saxonburg, Elma (Thomas Sr) Sutej, of Clinton Township and Martha Bowser (companion, Bob Browne Sr), of Butler; stepsons, Gary Acre, of Worthington and Scott (Betty) Acre, of Rockville, Maryland; grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Michael, Daniel and George Sutej, Ralph, Jonathan, Jessica and Marissa Dawson, Viola Kathy Bruno and Thomas Jr. and John J.C. Bowser; step-granddaughters, Valarie and Heather Acre; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-granddaughters and by her sister, Avis Mae Neubert, of Cabot. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles R. Dawson; her second husband, Robert S. Acre; brother, Roland Berz and by her sister, M. Ellen Gavrish.
Due to the current health concerns and recommendations, all services and burial for Dorothy will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
