Edward A. Petit, 66, of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born December 15, 1955, in Natrona Heights to the late J. Bernard and Vera (Wegner) Petit. Ed was a 1974 graduate of Highlands High School and served his country in the United States Army. He worked at PPG Paint in Springdale. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Brackenridge. He enjoyed history, music, fishing even if he was not catching anything, watching Jeopardy, was an avid Steeler fan and vacations on Anna Marie Island. Ed especially enjoyed hanging out on his porch drinking a beer and sharing music, laughter, and shooting the bull with friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marian (Brown) Petit; sons, Nathan (April) Petit, of Verona and Tyler Petit, of Pittsburgh; sister, Teresa Valasek, of Natrona Heights and her family, Chad Valasek, Cristina Valasek and Ryan (Kristi) Valasek and family; brothers-in-law, Boyd (Bev) Brown, of Leechburg and Ron Brown, of Russellton; sisters-in-law, Barb (Howard) Rose, of Clintonville and Kim (Jeff) Kondrick, of Cheswick; several nieces and nephews, his unofficial adopted son, David Petrak and his family and by his dog, Beasley. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria A. (Ropelewski) Petit on March 5, 1998 and by his brothers-in-law, Bill Brown and Robert D. Valasek.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
