Edward Lubiniecki, 93, of Buffalo Township, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. He was born November 27, 1922, in West Natrona, a son of the late Anthony and Cecelia Tomajczyk Lubiniecki. Ed was a veteran of WWII serving as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He retired from Duco Ceramics in Saxonburg, where he worked as a tool and die maker. Ed was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed playing chess and building model ships. Ed is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Zaremba Lubiniecki; his children, Ronald Lubiniecki (Maria Zilinski) , of West Leechburg, Linda (Robert) Antonucci, of Buffalo Township and Richard K. Lubiniecki, of Buffalo Township; four grandchildren, Brian (Misty) Lubiniecki, Lauren Perry, Toni Lynn Antonucci (Tom Miller) and Jonetta (John) Eversole; 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; and by his siblings, Stanley Lubiniecki of Greensburg and Genevieve Pyzewski, of Lower Burrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy J. Lubiniecki; sisters, Violet Pszczolkowski and Sophie Stofko; and by his sister-in-law, Helen Lubiniecki.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5-9 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with his pastor the Rev. James Mazurek as celebrant. Burial with full military honor's accorded by the Tarentum VFW will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ed may be made to the Freeport Area Meals-on-Wheels, 211 4TH Street, Freeport, Pa. 16229.
