Elizabeth (Shumek) Monti

Elizabeth Monti, 90, of Humble, Texas, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 in Atascocita, TX. A longtime resident of Natrona Heights, she was born on February 22, 1926, in Butler, PA to Dmetry and Anna Shumek.
Elizabeth graduated from Har-Brack High School and Duffs Business Institute. She retired from T.W. Phillips Natural Gas Company after 25 years. A genuine person with a keen sense of humor and lover of people, she cherished her family and friends the most. She was a bibliophile, an avid crossword enthusiast and enjoyed a good game of cards. Her creative talents were revealed in the kitchen and also by knitting, crocheting and various crafts. Elizabeth was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Mario "Sparks" Monti, her sister, Florence Shumek, and brother, John Shumek.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Barch, with whom she had an unbreakable bond and friendship that only two sisters can share; daughter, Linda Monti of Oceanport, NJ; son, James Monti and wife, Michelle of Humble, TX; treasured granddaughter, Emily Teresa Monti of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews that always remained in her memory.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St. Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
