Emily I. (Sharp) Donaldson, of Leechburg, daughter of the late Joseph Hiram Sharp and Mary Caroline Sharp, was called to the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Emily was born in the second decade of the 20th Century and died in the second decade of the 21st Century. She was 93 years of age. Emily was a former Leechburg business woman who with her husband Ike operated Donaldson Bus Lines, which serviced Allegheny Ludlum, Schenley Industries, the Leechburg Area School District, and the general public of the community. Active in the Armstrong County Democratic Party, her husband and daughter are both former Mayors of Leechburg. She was extremely dedicated to community service and volunteered for decades to work for the Leechburg Blood Bank in numerous blood drives throughout her adult life. Emily is a member of the former Calvary United Presbyterian Church, now Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg. She was very active in the Leechburg Elks Auxiliary and the former Leechburg High School Mothers Club. Emily was honored by the Leechburg Elks for her more than 50 plus years of Community Service to the Leechburg community and in 1996 was named Leechburg's Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the community newspaper. Emily is survived by her daughter, Jane (Don) Favero; brother, Milton 'Pete' (Amelia) Sharp; grandchildren, Jill Ansani and Geoffrey (Teresa) Favero; 6 great grandchildren, Emily, Jake, Cayden, Kelsie, Connor and Patrick as well as nephews, Skip Eshleman and Patrick, Peter and Joseph Sharp, and nieces, Sandy Troiano and Sheran Kupas and their children, Alyson, Mary, Scott, Danny, Josh, Johnny, Nathan, Megan, Drew and Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 51 years, Ivan 'Ike' Donaldson; her son, Randy Donaldson; sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Connie Eshleman Quarato; and nephew, Richard Scott Wilson.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of funeral service at 12:15 PM in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 300 Market Street, Leechburg.
