Florence “Honey” Glogowski, 92, of Natrona Heights passed away peacefully in her home the afternoon of Saturday, December 7th, 2024. She was born July 12, 1932, in Natrona Heights to the late Anton J. Mandak and Anna K. (Stastny) Mandak, early immigrants from the region now known as Slovakia. Florence was a lifelong resident of the AK Valley and retired from the former Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge where she met her late husband of 47 years, Raymond C. Glogowski, who passed away in 2019. She lived a humble life, full of thoughtfulness and kindness. She was a devout Roman Catholic and enjoyed listening to the Pirates and Steelers on local radio. Florence is survived by her beloved son & daughter-in-law, Owen (Melinda) Glogowski and her two grandsons, Nathan Glogowski and Steven Metzger. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her six brothers and four sisters-in-law, Marty (Maria) Mandak, Tony (Helen) Mandak, Stephen (Vicki) Mandak, Joseph Sr. (Laverne) Mandak, infants Anton and Joseph Francia and her eight sisters and four brothers-in-law, Betty (William) Aftanas, Mary (Eddie) Szymkowiak, Joan (Edward) Patton, Kathryn Mandak, Dorothy (Joseph Jr.) Siemon, Louise “Baba” Mandak, and infants Barbara Ann and Antoinette. Flowers accepted through Bailie's Flower Shoppe or contributions in memory of Florence may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Hospice for the recent care she was provided.
Friends will be received on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with her pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. To send an online condolence please visit www.cicholski-zidekfh.com.
