Frances (Fran) Kukowski, 86, of Tarentum PA, passed away on August 22, 2018 in
Cabot, PA. She was born March 2, 1932 in Brackenridge, a daughter of the late
Peter and Mary (Ploszaj) Dudiak. Fran was a graduate of Har-Brack High School
and attended Robert Morris College and graduated with honors. Fran worked in
Accounting at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation in Brackenridge, and later in
life as a proof reader for the Valley News Dispatch and as a customer service
associate for J.C. Penney in Fox Chapel. She was a long-standing member of Our
Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, and more recently attended St
Ladislaus Church in Natrona. Fran was past-President of the Ladies Guild of the
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish and a member of the Ladies
of Charity and the Resurrection Choir. She was also a past-Chaplin of the Natrona
American Legion Post 48 Ladies Auxiliary and was a Cursillo member since 2000.
Fran enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, weekly duplicate bridge,
euchre and poker competitions, traveling with her children and grandsons and
going on casino trips with her friends. Fran was preceded in death by her husband
of 51 years, Robert A. (Bubba) Kukowski and her sister Genevieve Dudiak. She
is survived by her siblings, Chester (Helen) Dudiak of Cabot and Steffie (Edward)
Barent of Tarentum, her children Mary Lynne Kukowski (Philadelphia), Judy
Kukowski (Philadelphia) and Rob Kukowski (Katy TX), three grandsons: Nathan
Kukowski (Atlanta GA), Ian Kukowski (New York NY) and Mason Kukowski
( New York NY) and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and
great-great nieces/nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 PM and on Friday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 AM in St. Ladislaus Church with her pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Entombment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Frances may be made to the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065 for the Lighted Cross on the Hill or Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C.
