Francis P. Calligan

Francis P. Calligan, DMD, 64, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023 at his home. He was born March 4, 1959, in Natrona Heights to Dolores "Mitzi" (Bialas) Calligan, of Natrona Heights and the late Richard Calligan. Fran was a 1977 graduate of Highlands High School, a 1981 graduate of LaRoche College and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985. Fran practiced dentistry in Tarentum for 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God R.C. Church in Freeport. Fran enjoyed watching sports and attending sporting events with his daughter, discussing world events with Pete and swapping dad jokes with Em. Fran is survived by his wife, Theresa "Terri" Calligan, children Mary (Em) Calligan, of Natrona Heights and Peter Calligan, of Slate Lick, his mother Dolores "Mitzi" Calligan, sisters, Amy and Diane, brother-in-law, Jim (Pamela) Rakowski, nieces, Jennifer and Katherine and by several other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by lifelong friends John Barch, Mike Conroy and Mike Fetchko and by his granddog, Tod and grandkitty, Feddie.

As per Fran's request there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Freeport. (Everyone is asked to meet at the church). Private burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport. Contributions in memory of Fran may be made to the American Cancer Society Donor Awareness Program.
