Frank D. Cassoni, 82, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born May 27, 1939, in Deferiet, New York to the late James P. and Grace (Ricco) Cassoni Sr. Frank was raised in Carthage, New York. Frank served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an operator for PPG in Springdale, retiring in 2000. Frank was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights and was a life member of Hilltop Hose Company #3 Station 168 in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed calling bingo, bowling, fishing, music, playing the guitar and was an avid Steeler fan. Frank's greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank is survived by his children, Ted (Dana) Cassoni, of Natrona Heights, Mark (Jammie) Cassoni, of Oregon, Ohio, Tina (Devin) Waters, of Plum and Kim (John) Beckett, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Jena Massarelli, Chad Waters, Natalie (Scott) Commander, Brittanie Cassoni (Fiance, Melinda), Benjamin Cassoni, Cassie Beckett, Ethan Cassoni and Olivia Cassoni; great-grandchildren, Joey and Mila Massarelli; sisters, Patricia Gavaletz, of Jacksonville, Florida, Diane Hutchins, of Carthage, New York and Kathryn (Robert) Chmela, of Ocala, Florida; sister-in-law, Eleanor Cassoni, of Carthage, New York and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Maliszewski) Cassoni on January 26, 2019; grandson, Dakota Beckett, brothers, James P Cassoni Jr. and John Cassoni; sister-in-law, Kay Cassoni and by his brother-in-law, John Hutchins.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Aaron J. Kriss as celebrant. Burial with military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Honor Guard will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
