Fred R. Rykaczewski, 77, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital on Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born December 29, 1943, in Natrona Heights, as son of the late Fred and Clara (Reczynski) Rykaczewski. Fred was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He worked as a salesman for the former Devereaux Motor Sales in Freeport for many years. Fred was of the Catholic faith. He was a volunteer for the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank. Fred was known for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, going to the YMCA Silver Sneakers and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events. Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue (Craig) Rykaczewski; children, Dennis (Jean) Rykaczewski, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Michael (Susan) Rykaczewski, of Valencia and Kristine (Anthony) Aulicino, of Buffalo Township; grandchildren, Megan Rykaczewski, Alison (Ethan) Williams, Michael Rykaczewski Jr., Jessica (Alex) Carson, Anthony Aulicino and Matthew Aulicino; brother, Bernard (Judith) Rykaczewski, of Buffalo Township and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his grandson, D. Craig Rykaczewski and his sister, Maxine E. Balog.
Services and burial for Fred will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
