Genevieve C. Thompson

January 31, 1933 — April 25, 2022

Genevieve C. Thompson, 89, of Brackenridge, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at home. She was
born on January 31, 1933 in Emerickvlle, PA, a daughter of the late Lawrence Milliron and
Stella (Ishman) Milliron Grove. Genevieve was a graduate of Har Brack High School, Class of
1950. She was employed by Blackburn’s Physicians Pharmacy and Surgical Supply for 26 years
as an Office Manager of the Medical Surgical Division. Genevieve was a member of Central
Presbyterian Church for 60 years, serving as a Deacon for 15 years. Currently she is a member
of the First United Presbyterian Church, of Tarentum, PA. She was a member of the Grand
Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Genevieve enjoyed landscaping, baking, and creating beautiful
floral arrangements and wreaths. She was also an accomplished seamstress and for many years
made uniquely designed clothing for her family. She is survived by her children, Joy (Lawrence)
Gezo; Robin Bergstrom; James R. Thompson II; and Polly (Neal) Ross, her grandchildren,
Elizabeth (Jonathan) Bergstrom Huddleston; Zachary (Julia) Gezo; Verne (fiancée Lindsay)
Bergstrom; Hannah Ross (Jonathan Druding); four great grandchildren, Sophia Druding; Annie
and Ross Huddleston; and Penelope Gezo. Also surviving are brothers Lawrence H. Milliron of
Florida and Lee D. Milliron of Cabot; stepsister Linda Vorp; sister-in- law Marge Thompson, as
well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her
husband of 58 years James R. Thompson (2010); step-father Chester A. Grove; son-in- law
Verne Bergstrom; sister -in- laws Linda L. Milliron and Cynthia Milliron; brother-in- law Henry
(Joe) Thompson; stepbrothers, Sam and Raymond Grove; stepsister Carolyn (Sis) Prager; and
step brother-in -laws Marlin (Skip) Vorp and Harry Prager. Our family will be forever grateful to
Mother’s “small prayer group”, our many friends, and the area churches for their ongoing
support and prayers. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the Oncology and
Hospice departments at AHN for the wonderful care provided.


Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service at 7:00 P.M. in the
Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Officiating will
be the Rev. Philip Beck. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
