Helen L. Valasek

Helen L. Valasek 94, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Platinum Ridge, Brackenridge. She was born July 22, 1928, in Brackenridge, a daughter of the late Louis and Sophie (Majtan) Valasek.  Helen was a graduate of Har-Brack High School.  She worked for many years at the former Calligan Pharmacy in Tarentum.  Helen was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, former Holy Martyrs Church.  She enjoyed polka dancing, shopping and spending time with her family.  Helen is survived by her son-in-law, Robert D. Cornuet, of New Kensington, granddaughters, Rebecca (Bryan) Wilhelm and Jessica (Robert) DePascale, great grandchildren, Brayden Wilhelm and Sophia DePascale and by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parent, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Cornuet on August 17, 2022, brother, Albert Valasek and by her sisters, Vincentia Artkowski, Angela Buco and Mary Mallets.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Campus.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp.  To send an online condolence please visit www.cicholski-zidekfh.com.  Contributions in memory of Helen may be made to the Susan G.
