Helen Marie (Snyder) Sherrieb, 96, of Natrona Heights, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was born May 1, 1920, in Freeport to the late Charles and Mary Dininger Snyder. Helen was a 1938 graduate of Freeport High School and also a graduate of the New Kensington Busniess School. She worked as a private secretary for the WearEver Division of Alcoa in New Kensington and later as a secretary at St. Alphonsus R.C. Church in Springdale. Helen was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights and a member of the former Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and visiting with friends on her front porch. Helen is survived by her children, Richard (Jackie) Sherrieb, of Natrona Heights, Ronald (Joanne) Sherrieb, of Brackenridge and Marsha Etzrodt, of Natrona Heights; six grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Sherrieb, Kristen (Jeff) Christy, Laurie (Bob) Spohn, Jason Sherrieb, Dawn Verner and Susan McDade; 14 great grandchildren, Sydney and Evan Sherrieb, Nicollette, Mac and Kennedy Christy, Shane McGregor, Braden and Charlie Spohn, Emmalyn, Jonah and Patrick Sherrieb, Brandi Chojnacki, Brett Orris and Mariah McDade; 3 great great grandchildren, Hayven and Luxi Lookabaugh and Kaci Orris; brother, Jack (Diane) Singer, of Oakmont, sister, Burnette (Wendell) Coulter, of Sarasota, Florida; half sister, Doris Sell, of Sarver; and by her sisters-in-law, Peggy Singer, of Lower Burrell and Alice Snyder, of Freeport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Robert Singer Sr.; husband, Richard B. Sherrieb on March 25, 1976; son-in-law, Thomas Etzrodt; and by her brothers, Donald Snyder and Robert Singer.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service wlll be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport.
