James A. Huet

November 20, 1930 — March 28, 2022

James A. Huet, 91, of Natrona Heights, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022. He was born November 20, 1930, in New Kensington to the late Armond V. "Whitey" and Helen (Soentgen) Huet. Jim was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School and he received a degree in Agriculture from Penn State University. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army as a army medical corpsman at Brooks Army Hospital in Texas. He started his working career as a farmer raising chickens and Black Angus Cows and he later worked at Alcoa where he was the foreman on the group that developed the easy open can. Jim was the first person to drink a beer from a pull tab aluminum can. During his 40 year career in real estate, Jim was an agent, appraiser, broker and owner of the former Huet Realty, Tarentum. He also worked as a part-time appraiser for Czekalski Real Estate. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Holy Martyrs Church in Tarentum, was a charter member of the Allegheny Valley Optimist Club and was a former member of the Board of Realtors. Jim enjoyed doing remodeling work and traveling. He is survived by his four sons, Thomas V. (Cheryl) Huet, of Natrona Heights, James C. (Gina) Huet, of Natrona Heights, John W. (Donna) Huet, of Manchester by the Sea, MA. and David R. (Tina) Huet, of Fernandina Beach, Florida; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and by his great-great grandson. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Carole T. (Mosley) Huet on October 29, 2020.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a parting prayer service at 11:30 a.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc. 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 12 noon in Holy Martyrs Church with his pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
