James E. Hanzlik

James E. Hanzlik, 84, of Natrona Heights, passed away on Monday. April 12, 2021 at Platinum Ridge, Brackenridge. He was born September 7, 1936, in Tarenttum, a son of the late James R. and Helen E. (Hepler) Hanzlik. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Har-Brack High School and received his bachelors of science degree in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He served his country in the United States Army. Jim retired in 1996 as a metallurgist from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. He was a member of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church and was a former Boy Scout leader for troops 186 and 395. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. He is survived by his four sons, Rob (Lisa) Hanzlik, of Sharpsburg, Don (Dee Dee) Hanzlik, of Pittsburgh, Wally (Heather) Hanzlik, of Allegheny Township and Ken Hanzlik (Lisa Milauskas), of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent), Jake, Josh, Julia, Eugene and Antonio and by his great grandson, Greyson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Grimm) Hanzlik on September 7, 2020; brothers, Robert and Ronald Hanzlik and by his sister, Frances Wahl.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Cameron Malcolm, IV. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
