Jane Errico

Jane Errico, 80, of Rockville, Maryland, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Parkcliffe Alzheimer's Community in Toledo, Ohio. She was born October 8, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Bennie and Sophie Turowski Errico. Jane was a resident of Tarentum until 1972. She graduated from Tarentum High School in 1954 and received her B.S. and Master's in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1958 and 1960, respectively. At Pitt, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority and Quax, an honorary science club for women. Jane worked as a program manager and systems analyst for a number of information technology companies in the Washington, DC area, before retiring from Science Applications International Corporation in 2004. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart St. Peters R.C. Church in Tarentum. Growing up, Jane studied and taught dance at the former Audrey Ann's School of Dance in New Kensington. An avid reader, Jane volunteered for years at the Community Library of Allegheny Valley. Having lost dear friends to auto-immune diseases, she volunteered for years in the fight against multiple sclerosis and lupus. Jane loved to travel. She was an active member of the Bad Pennies, a Volksmarch club that sponsored local events and traveled the world to join walks in Estonia, Poland, Germany and other countries.
Jane is survived by her children, A.K. 'Chip' (Gina) Miller Jr., of Natrona Heights, David J. (Karen) Miller, of Maumee, Ohio, Tracy Miller DiGioia, of Rockville, MD, and Sean R. (Kristen) Miller, of Newark, Del.; eight grandchildren, Lauren (Darren) Gailey, Jennifer (Lee) Miller-Ocuin, Christopher Miller, Megan Miller, Dominic DiGioia, Natalie DiGioia, Benjamin DiGioia and Jace Miller; by her first great grandchild Elisabetta Rose Ocuin, who was born earlier this month; and by her former spouse, Alvin K. 'Al' Miller, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a blessing service on Monday at 10:30 AM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Officiating will be the Rev. Aaron Kriss. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jane may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org or the Community Library of Allegheny County at alleghenycountylibrary.org.
