Janet M. Simpson

Janet M. (Traenkner) Simpson, 91, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021. She was born June 16, 1930, in Natrona to the late Henry J. and Helen L. (Schlicker) Traenkner. Janet was a 1948 graduate of Har-Brack High School. She was a member of the Holiday Park Methodist Church. Janet enjoyed crocheting, knitting, all crafts and word search puzzles. Janet is survived by her children, Susan (Donald) Stiveson, of Arnold, Amy (Eric) Lytle, of Murrysville and Brian Simpson, of State College; grandchildren, Sean (Jennifer) Stiveson, Brittney Lytle, Zachary Lytle and Caitlin Simpson and by her great-granddaughter, Sophia Stiveson. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Simpson in 1999, brothers, Howard, Robert, Fred and George Traenkner and by her loving companion of 13 years, Graham Mills.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Funeral ceremonies will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Faith Lutheran Church, Natrona Heights. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Eric Damon.
