Janet L. Walters

Janet Lucille "Double" Walters, 92, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1932, in Sligo, a daughter of the late Samuel and Hazel (Heeter) Courson.

Janet was a 1949 graduate of Sligo High School. She began her career as an assembly worker at the former Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge, before retiring in 2001 after working 18 years in food service with the Highlands School District.

A woman of great warmth and generosity, Janet cherished time spent with family at the family camp in Belltown. She loved playing cards, working on puzzles, and playing games on her laptop. She was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Janet had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes, always ensuring that everyone who crossed her path felt welcome.

She is survived by her four sons, Ronald A. Walters (Sally Jones) of Lower Burrell, David R. (Diane) Walters of Natrona Heights, Gary E. (Linda) Walters of Brackenridge, and Robert G. (Heather) Walters of Natrona Heights; grandchildren RJ (Renee) Walters, Tom Walters, Josh (Katie) Walters, Samantha (Aaron) Walters, Shelby Walters, and Marlie Walters; great-grandchildren Eric, Elijah, Eleanor, Emily, Mason, Maddox, Ari, and Isla Lucille. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack L. Walters, and infant son Kevin Eugene; brothers Dean, Raymond, and Richard; and by her sister, Mildred.

Services and burial were private. A celebration of life is planned for January 18th at the VFW Post 894 in Natrona Heights starting at 3pm.
