John A. Rusak, 78, of Natrona Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born February 9, 1943, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late John and Theresa (Brzezinski) Rusak. John served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel where he worked as a rigger. John enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, John (Cindy) Rusak, of Marienville, Michelle (Jesse) Joyce, of Natrona Heights and Michael (Rhonda) Rusak, of Winter Haven, Florida; by his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and by his sisters, Rose Thimons, of Natrona Heights and Dee Dee Galloway, of Scottdale. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Diane (Fields) Rusak on June 17, 2019 and brother, Richard Rusak.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, New Kensington, with the Rev. Nikolai Breckenridge, officiating. Burial with full military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of John may be made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Avenue, New Kensington, Pa. 15068. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
