John David Leighlitner, 67, of Tulsa, OK., passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Hillcrest Heart Center, Tulsa. He was born November 19, 1949, in Natrona Heights to Vanetta Leighlitner, of Natrona Heights and the late John Leighlitner. John attended Har-Brack High School. He served in the U.S. Mairne Corp. and fought in the Vietnam War Campaign in 1968, and served in the U.S. Army until his retirement in 1987. John also worked for Wells Fargo Security for 30 years in Tulsa. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family and their 4 dogs, and riding his motorcycle. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Stevens Leighlitner; daughter, Christy Leighlitner, at home; son, Shawn Leighlitner, of Tulsa; mother, Vanetta Leighlitner, of Natrona Heights; siblings, Florence (Jeff) Stivenson, of Hinesville, Ga., Faith (George) Valasek, of Tarentum, and George (Chris) Hartz, of Natrona Heights; sister-in-law, Aurora Leighlitner, of Natrona; 12 nieces and nephews; 23 great nieces and nephews; 6 great great nieces; aunt, Nancy Williams, of Illinois; uncles, Robert (Janella) Stivenson, of Ohio, and James Stivenson, of Brackenridge. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Leighlitner; brother, Barry B. Leighlitner; children, Shawna Marie and John David Leighlitner Jr.; maternal grandparents, Ben and Ethel Stivenson; and paternal grandparents, John and Lillian Leighlitner. John, Rest in Peace, we love you and will miss you-Your Loving Family.
