John R. Adams, 85 of Saxonburg, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township. He was born November 25, 1932, in Lyndora to the late John J. and Anna Gonko Adams. John was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He retired after 40 years of service as a State Farm Agent, winning many company awards from his office in Vandergrift. John was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights, the Leechburg Elks and the Tarentum Area Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and traveling. John is survived by his children, Scott (Carleen) Adams, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and Kathy Chopp (Joe Carozza), of Adams Township; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Adams, of Pittsburgh and by his sister, Marti Kopie, of Delaware. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn R. Rogalski Adams on June 3, 2015 and by his son, John R. Adams Jr. on February 17, 2002.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 12 Noon in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Aaron Kriss as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be made to the Tarentum Area Lions Club, PO Box 135, Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
