John W. "Jack" Friel, 77, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was born February 18, 1946, in Natrona Heights to the late Warren J. & Elizabeth (Carroll) Friel. Jack was a 1964 graduate of Har Brack High School. He retired in 2006 after 30 years of service as the service manager for the former Bouchat Buick in Natrona Heights. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in New Kensington, the Logan Ferry Sportsman Club and was an honorary member of the Beaver Springs Hunting Club. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid reader. He is survived by his son, Scott (Stephanie) Friel, of Beaver Springs, grandchildren, Mason and Adisson Friel and by his brothers, James (Beverly) Friel, of Apollo Beach, Florida and Thomas (Carla) Friel, of Martinez, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Dona L. Holmes Friel who passed on October 27, 2023.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a blessing service at 11:30 a.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jack may be made to the Beaver Springs Hunting Club, 535 Center Ave., Beaver Springs, Pa. 17812.
