Josephine (Rafalko) Wozniak

November 8, 1917 — July 6, 2016

Josephine (Rafalko) Wozniak, 98, of West Natrona, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. She was born November 8, 1917, in West Natrona, a daughter of the late Stefan and Bronislawa Bujnarowski Rafalko. Josephine was a 1937 graduate of Har-Brack High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Natrona Heights and was a life member of the Polish Women's Alliance. Josephine was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Louise J. (Dr. Arthur) Barnes, of New Kensington, Edmond A. Wozniak, of Buffalo Township and David L. (Elyce) Wozniak, of Strongsville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Edmund (Jacqueline) Rafalko, of Palm Coast, Florida; sister, Eleanor (Albert) Makay, of Fairfax, Vriginia; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on May 21, 1939, Edmund S. Wozniak who died on July 27, 1999, daughter-in-law, M. Suzanne Wozniak; brothers, Anthony and Leonard Rafalko; and sisters, Josephine Rafalko, Jane Rafalko and Louise Eckroth.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with her pastor the Rev. James Mazurek as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
