Karen A. (Napierkowski) Bloch, 67, of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Sunday, August 28, 2016. She was born April 16, 1949, in Natrona Heights, the daughter of Anne M. Rybicki Napierkowski, of Natrona Heights and the late Walter E. Napierkowski. Karen was a 1967 graduate of Har-Brack High School and a 1970 graduate of the West Penn School of Nursing. Her career in nursing was at Allegheny Valley Hospital, where she worked as an intensive care nurse, IV Team member and she retired as a recovery room nurse. Karen was a member of Holy Martyrs Church in Tarentum. She loved playing cards and games and watching game shows on TV. Karen was married to her grade school sweatheart, David M. Bloch and had three children, Megan (William) Lindley, of Freeport, Amy (Sean) Wetmore, of Natrona Heights and Mark (Kelly) Bloch, of Natrona Heights. She has six beloved grandchildren, Cassidy, Ethan, Alex, Logan, Jocelyn and Luke. Karen is also survived by her two brothers, Thomas Napierkowski and Timothy (Susan) Napierkowski, both of Natrona Heights, brothers-in-law, Gerald (Jane) Bloch and James (Peggy) Bloch; sister-in-law, Carol (Raymond) Persinski; and by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Holy Martyrs Church with her pastor the Rev. Thomas L. Gillespie M.D. as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
