Karen E. Snizaski

Karen E. (Ballay) Snizaski, 74, of New Kensington, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Forbes Hospital Monroeville. She was born November 22, 1949, in Natrona Heights to the late Leonard and Katherine (Strzeszewski) Ballay. Karen was a graduate of Har-Brack class of 1967, received her bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania class of 1971, and then completed her master's degree at Penn State University class of 1973. Karen spent 35 years with the Penn Hills School District, where she worked as a first grade teacher.

After retiring, she enjoyed music, dancing, reading, going out to dinner and family get-togethers. Karen was also a member of St. Mary's of Czestochowa R.C. Church. Karen is survived by her husband, John Snizaski, and sister Donna (John) Cieslinski, of Tarentum. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Ballay and Lawrence Ballay.

Friends will be received on Friday for 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, New Kensington.
