Laura Lynn (Morris) Runski, 70, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was born May 28, 1951, in Pittsburgh to the late Howard and Doris (Steele) Morris. Laura Lynn was raised in Fairmont, West Virginia and moved back to Plum where she graduated from Plum High School in 1969. She was a graduate of the Citizens Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy and worked as a respiratory therapist for the former Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington until it's closure. Laura Lynn then returned to school at CCAC for medical coding and continued her working career as a medical coder for Allegheny Valley Hospital and then UMPC St. Margaret Hospital. Along with her husband, they were the owners of the former Amanda Lynn Gift Shop in Natrona Heights. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa R.C. Church in New Kensington. Laura Lynn enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's Elementary School and St. Joseph High School while her daughter was a student. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald J. Runski; her daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Lis, of Erie; her grandchildren, Cooper, Carter, Carson and Chloe Lis; siblings, Mark (Laura) Morris, Cindi (Andy) Anatra, Denny Bridge, Sharon (Brian) Leary, Jeff (Heidi) Bridge and Cindy (Robert) Gardner, all of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marcia (Rick) Bates, of Lower Burrell; brothers-in-law, John and Walter Runski, of New Kensington and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Laura Lynn was preceded in death by her stepmother, Phyllis Morris; sister, Coleen Peerenboom; nephew, Danny Leary; great niece, Mariposa Snyder; father & mother-in-law, John and Rose Runski and by her brothers-in-law, Ted and Joseph Runski.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
