Laurence D. Tiss, 66, of Kittanning, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Platinum Ridge Center, Brackenridge. He was born March 31, 1955, in Darby a son of the late Richard and Gladys (Woodwell) Tiss. Laurence received his Bachelor of Science degree from Moody College in Chicago and has a Masters in Religious Studies. He worked for Reading Railroad, Conrail and the Delaware Port Authority as a signalman. Laurence was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning and was a volunteer for the Armstrong Rails to Trails. He enjoyed biking, fishing and the outdoors. Laurence is survived by his sister, Patricia (John) Grubb, of Lower Burrell and by his two nephews, Richard Grubb, of Arlington, Virginia and William (Danielle) Grubb, of Augusta, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Tiss.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Officiating will be his pastor the Rev. Mark Brady. Burial will be private. Please be prepared to follow all CDC guidelines in regards to wearing of a face covering and social distancing.
