Leonard P. Kisiel, 79, of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. He was born January 1, 1939, in Natrona Heights to the late Leo and Bernice Sowa Kisiel. Leonard was a 1956 graduate of Freeport High School. He retired from United States Steel in Saxonburg and following his retirement he worked for Harbison Nursery in Natrona Heights. Leonard was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum, Tarentum Eagles, Outdoor Life Lodge in Fawn Township and Fawn Township Volunteer Fire Company #2. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid Steeler fan and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Leonard is survived by his children, David (Pam) Kisiel, of Natrona Heights, Daniel (Lori) Kisiel, of Natrona Heights and Susan (Rafael) Viera, of New Kensington; grandchildren, Alycia, Cory, Kristin, Monica, Michelle and Danielle; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Aiden, Micah, Ruca and Knox; brother, Thomas Kisiel (Karen Moon), of Buffalo Township; sister, Lucy (Edward) Mahdik, of Natrona Heights; girlfriend, Joann Smith; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Jack-Kisiel on June 23, 2003; grandson, Bryan Ward; brothers, Joseph and Walter Kisiel; and by his sister, Sophie Haberman.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Dayton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Leonard may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny Avenue, Tarentum, Pa. 15084 or to Fawn Twp. volunteer Fire Company #2, 182 Fawn Drive, Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
