GREGORIUS
Lillian M
Lillian M. Gregorius, 92, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully from this earthly life into the arms of her God Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She had struggled with cancer for more than 20 years, but lived a full life despite her condition. The sixth of seven children, she was born November 20, 1920, in Danville, to Eugene and Ida Anhorn Hoyet. After graduating from Tarentum High School in 1938, she was employed at
the Pittsburgh Plate Glass
Company, leaving ultimately as executive secretary to the head of the research division in Harmarville. Lillian married her husband, Joseph, in 1948. She was a perfectionist in all things. Lillian loved to prepare gourmet meals, set a beautiful table, create ornate needlework, write poetry, complete crossword puzzles, and garden, as well as wander through museums and antique shops. She had an eye for finding little treasurers in her travels, which she incorporated into her meticulous home. A voracious reader, she was knowledgeable in a multitude of topics. A compassionate servant to those in need, her contributions were done without any wish of recognition.
Lillian was a lifelong resident of Natrona Heights and Brackenridge, PA, until she moved to Toledo, Ohio in 2009 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed her home at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, especially her walks outdoors to enjoy the many gifts of nature. In the final years of her life, Lillian was able to enjoy a peaceful existence. She was the recipient of much kindness from the
entire staff at Kingston
Residence, Hospice nurses, favorite hairstylist, Cheryl, and special helpers, Elsie, Brittany, and Tina. Because of their compassionate care, she often said, "you couldn't ask for anything more."
Lillian is survived by her only child, Anne (Dr. Richard Sbrocchi); grandchildren, Christina and Nicholas; a brother, Wilbert; step-grandchildren, Mary Fran, Barbara, Margaret and John Demarest; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Joseph; stepdaughter, Mary Janet (Henry Demarest), and stepson, Joseph Gregorius.
At her request, viewing will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Natrona Heights, PA. Burial will follow Thursday, October 31, 2013, in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, PA, 724-224-8688.
