Louise M. Kamenjar, 85, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Rockville, Md. She was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Natrona, a daughter of the late Blair and Anna (Augustine) Kamenjar. She resided in Bethesda, Md., for more than 50 years and was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church there. Louise grew up in Natrona and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. She received a BA from Mercyhurst College in Erie, a master's degree from Fordham University in New York, N.Y., and pursued doctoral studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She began her teaching career at Heights Elementary School in Natrona Heights. Louise spent more than 30 years teaching French and Latin at Walter Johnson High School in Montgomery County, Md., serving as a 12 month resource teacher and chairman of the Foreign Language Department until she retired. Louise is survived by her sister, Eileen Heretick, of Natrona Heights; and sister-in-law, Mary Kamenjar, of Columbia, Md. She was devoted to her 12 nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren. She also leaves behind several dear friends with whom she taught, traveled and socialized during the last 60 years. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, William Kamenjar; sister, Agnes Rehak; and brothers-in-law, Rudolph Heretick and Rudolph Rehak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights with the Rev. James Mazurek as celebrant.
