M. Josephine (Defina) Spataro

M. Josephine (DeFina) Spataro, 64, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was born March 29, 1954 in Sant'Onofrio, CZ Italy to Caterina Profiti DeFina, of Natrona Heights and the late Giuseppe DeFina. Josephine immigrated to the United States in 1964 at the age of 9. Josephine worked in the cafeteria at Most Blessed Sacrament School in Natrona Heights and later as a cook at Ladles in Springdale. She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights. Josephine enjoyed entertaining, cooking, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Sam Spataro; children, Mimma Spataro, at home, Armando Spataro (fiance' Jamie Collings), of Shaler Township, Caterina (Don) Zalewski, of Plum and Cristina (Matt) Williams, of Glendale, Az.; grandchildren, Giuseppina Spataro, Fabiana Williams, Bianca Williams and one on the way, baby Z; sister, Sara (Terry) Abraham, of Natrona Heights and by her nephew, Joseph Abraham.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 pm in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am in Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
