Martha Lou Haugh

May 25, 1926 — July 1, 2021

Martha Lou Haugh 96 of Brackenridge died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Born in West
Tarentum, Martha Lou was the daughter of the late William F. Daum and Josephine A. (Lang) Daum and
lived in Natrona Heights and Brackenridge. She graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1943 and
immediately began working at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. She married the late W. Robert
Haugh, the boy next door, in 1953. Martha Lou raised her children and then returned to the workforce
in 1973, working first at Allegheny Valley Hospital as a transcriptionist and then at Allegheny Ludlum in
the Insurance Department. She retired from Allegheny Ludlum in 1993, with cumulative 30 years of
service. Martha Lou was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Guardian Angels Parish and
volunteered as a CCD Teacher and as a member of the Resurrection Choir and Senior Choir. She
volunteered at Allegheny Valley Hospital in the Gift Shop, at the Information Desk and as a member of
the Auxiliary. She volunteered at UPMC St. Margaret in the Medical Library and for the Alle-Kiski Health
Foundation. Martha loved playing cards with friends and family, working jigsaw puzzles and crossword
puzzles, bowling, reading and needlework.
Her parents, husband and beloved sister Mary Jane Daum pre-deceased her. She is survived by her three
children: W. Robert, Jr (Kathie) of Melbourne, FL, Barbara (Douglas) Meinhardt of Wylie TX and Amy
Haugh, with whom she made her home. The loves of her life were her grandchildren: W. Robert Haugh,
III (Paige) of Hurt, VA, Jason (Melanie) Haugh of Colonial Heights, VA, Kevin (Sarah) Haugh of Cincinnati,
OH, Sean Haugh of McGhayesville, VA, Lindsay (Brent) Barnes of Sachse, TX, Leah (Joshua) Hadsell of
Rowlett, TX and Lacey (Jonathan) Mussetter of Sachse, TX. The lights of her life were her 14 great
grandchildren: Billy, Shirley and Amy Haugh, Sydney Jane, MacKenzie Lou, and Jason Paul Haugh, Jr.
Abbey and Samuel Haugh, Hudson, Henry and Hugh Barnes, Farryn Lou and Nash Cannon Hadsell, and
Josie Pearl Mussetter.

Friends will be received on Monday from 3-7 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township. care. The family would also like to thank Pam & Norb Lapcyzinski, Jodi & Gary Bowser, Robyn & Ron
Strader, Georgia & David Gainor, Dorothy O’Donnell, Gery Lucke, and Mary Arturo who made it possible
for Martha to be at home and helped in so many ways. Donations can be made in honor of Martha to
Guardian Angels Parish, the St. Margaret Foundation, or the Alle-Kiski Health Foundation.
