Martha Valasek

Martha (Zatezalo) Valasek, 86, of Natrona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born June 25, 1934, in Export, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Bellish) Zatezalo. During the 1970's, Martha was the owner of Martha's Pizza in Brackenridge, later she worked at North Star Pizza and Isaly's both in New Kensington. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, St. Ladislaus Church in Natrona. Martha enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, was an avid Pirate fan and was a great cook and baker. Martha is survived by her children, George D. (Faith) Valasek, of Tarentum, Richard E. Valasek, of Natrona, Patricia Valasek, of Natrona, Donna (John) Lazar, of Lower Burrell, John J. Valasek, of Lower Burrell and Edward R. Valasek, of Natrona; grandchilden, Steven Valasek, Joseph (Sarah) Valasek, Mary (Allen) Hazlet, Jaimie Valasek and Kristin Bourgeois Valasek; great-grandchilden, Mikayla (Ean) Steele, Makenzie Bourgeois, Alexia Bourgeois, Julian and Gabriel Hazlet, Max, Jack, Leira and Benjamin Valasek, Hunter and Logan Collingridge, Gavin Simon and Jaden Dunmire, great great-grandchildren, Bellamy and Benjamin Steele and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Valasek on June 27, 2006, brothers, Ralph Zatezalo, Nicky Zatezalo, Danny Bellish and one brother in infancy and by her sisters, Mildred Zatezalo, Sara Wallace and Metty Britz.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 12 noon in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Entombment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Martha's family would like to thank Citizens Hose Ambulance Service and have contributions in lieu of flowers sent to them at 965 Burtner Rd., Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
