Mary Jane Filo

Mary Jane (Micholas) Filo, 93, of Natrona Heights , passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Harmar Village Care Center. She was born to the late Martin and Catherine (Severin) Micholas in Natrona Heights on August 24, 1927. Mary Jane graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1945 and from the Maison Felix Beauty Academy of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights.
At one time she owned and operated the PPG Paint Store in Natrona Heights as well as the Dairy Queen in Natrona Heights. Mary Jane was a proud mother of three wonderful sons, enjoyed being a homemaker to include baking, gardening and decorating. She loved a good book and was a true friend. Mary Jane's guiding purpose in life was managing, caring and loving her family; for her, family was always first especially at Sunday dinners which were like Thanksgiving. Mary Jane is survived by her three sons, John (Myrna) Filo, of East Windsor, New Jersey, Jeffrey (Karla) Filo, of Shawnee, Kansas and Joel Filo, of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren and by her brother, Richard (Wilma) Micholas, of Erie. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her dear husband of 50 years, John P. Filo on December 7, 1996 and by her brother, Robert Micholas.
