Melissa Jane (Vantine) Masarik, 89, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Concordia, Fox Chapel. She was born September 23, 1932, in Freeport to the late Gilpin M. and Edna E. (Atkinson) Vantine. Jane was a 1951 graduate of Freeport High School. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights, Christian Mothers of the church and was affiliated with the Girls Scouts of America. Jane enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and she especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, John F. Masarik, of Mayo, Florida, Michael J. (Chris) Masarik, of Fawn Township, Kimberly A. (Corky) Wagner, of Key Largo, Florida and Mary E. Capoccioni, of Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren, Joshua, Jamaica, Jennifer, Cody, John III, Michael II, Nicole, Nathan, Cole and Jarrod; great-grandchildren, Jesa, Jack, Jasmine and Avi and by her brother, Thomas A. (Lenora) Vantine, of Cabot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Masarik on June 13, 2017, brothers, Roy E. George, Richard Vantine, Gilpin Vantine and Henry Vantine and by her sisters, Margaret Ruffner and Lillian Booher.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friiday, December 3, 2021 at 12 noon in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Aaron J. Kriss as celebrant. Burial will be private. To send an online condolence please visit www.cicholski-zidekfh.com.
