Melvin K. Baughman

Melvin K. Baughman, 85, of Brackenridge, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Future Care Chesapeake, Arnold, Maryland. He was born October 17, 1930, in Brackenridge, a son of the late James Franklin and Edith Chambers Baughman. Melvin was a 1950 graduate of Har-Brack High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Coast Guard. Melvin retired from Gulf Research in Harmarville where he worked as a Lab Technician Specialist for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Brackenridge where he was also an usher and a member of the V.F.W. Post 894 in Natrona Heights. Melvin was well read, especially text books, and enjoyed wood working and spending time at his camp in Corsica He is survived by his son, Ken (Lynne) Baughman, of Pasadena, Maryland; grandchildren, Dustin M. Baughman and Rebecca L. (Constantino) Demetriades; and by his great granddaughter, Audrey A. Demetriades. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy R. Aaron Baughman on January 10, 2013; daughter, Sharon Ann Baughman in 2009; sister, Donna Kay Baughman and by his brother in infancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11 AM in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Brackenridge. Officiating with be the Rev. Frank Yesko. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Melvin may be made to the Anne Arundel County Children's Fund, 2521 Riva Road Suite L-7, Anapolis, Md. 21401.
