Monica Valarik (Greiner), 61, of Brackenridge completed her 16 year journey with breast cancer surrounded by her family at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler. She was born March 27, 1956, in Natrona Heights to the late John J. and Elizabeth (Betty Hujo) Valarik. Monica graduated in 1974 from Highlands High School, and worked for 40 years first as a secretary and then as a senior technician at PPG Glass Research Center, Harmarville. Monica enjoyed her time in the sun and especially Siesta Key, Florida with her 'sol' mate of 30 years, Robert A. Greiner. She also generously entertained everyone she came in contact with and adopted their families. She is a member of St. Joseph R.C. Parish, St. Ladislaus Church in Natrona. Monica was an avid Steeler fan. As an Auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 226, Brackenridge, Eagles FOE Aries 699, Tarentum, and Elks BPOE 644, Tarentum, she supported Veterans and their fund raising functions such as bingo, cash bashes and casino trips. She lovingly enjoyed spending time with Rocco and Winter, children of Natalie (Reeves) & Doug Gallets and the many children & great nieces and nephews of the Greiner family. Monica never missed an opportunity to bring friends and family together for an Easter Egg hunt or any reason for a party.
Monica is survived by Mark & Karen (Stanonis) Valarik, Mary Beth (Valarik) & Ken Reeves, Lenora (Leni Greiner) & Joseph Smith, and Cheryle (Greiner) & Chris Hendy, many nieces and nephews and their families and too few Aunts.
