Parker L. "Dusty" Large, 74, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born September 17, 1950, in Natrona Heights to the late Parker and Margaret (Walker) Large. Dusty was a veteran of the United States Army. He was of the Christian faith. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Tesone Enterprises, Inc. Dusty was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities with his grandchildren and was the ultimate hockey cheer pap. Dusty also enjoyed going to oldies dances with is wife. Dusty is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine "Cathy" (Fennell) Large, daughters, Brandi Gloer, of Fawn Township and Jamie (Darrel) Crowe, of Natrona Heights, grandchildren, Luke Gloer (Kelsey), Emma Crowe, Isaac Crowe, Connor Gloer, Colton Gloer, Joshua Large (Victoria), Cole Large and Grace Large, great grandson, Kolten Large and by his sister, Linda Large, of Allegheny Township. In addition to his parents, Dusty was preceded in death by his son, Brent A. Large on August 6, 2011 and by his brother, Rick Large.
Friends will be received on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at 8:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Officiating will be the Rev. Fred Neal. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dusty may be to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
