A remarkable life reached its conclusion on Christmas Morning 2016, with the passing of Robert Gerard Rybicki, 58, of New Kensington. He was born in Natrona Heights on December 1, 1958 to the late Frank Rybicki Sr. and Albina Uhric Rybicki, of Cabot. Rob graduated from Highlands High School in 1977 where he served as Senior Class President. In later years, he was involved in planning and organizing several class reunions. After attending the Boyce Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County, he transferred to Penn State Harrisburg, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Among Rob's professional career highlights was his work at Philips Respironics, Inc. in Murrysville. His research resulted in two U.S. government patents in the design and construction of the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine for the treatment of sleep apnea. He retired from the Engineering field in 2014. Rob's hobbies and interests included trout fishing, the electric guitar, woodworking, a good game of poker, and hosting numerous 'Steeler' parties for his family and friends. He is survived by Wendi (Wozniak) Rybicki, his companion and loving wife of over 29 years. Rob also leaves two sisters and a brother, Jeanie (P.J.) O'Donnell, Carol Ross and Frank Rybicki, Jr., all of Natrona Heights. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Patricia (Bennett) Wozniak, of Hopewell Township; sisters-in-law, Sherri (Doug) Murdoch, of Hopewell Township and Amy (Mark) Muslin, of Chippewa Township; nephews, Jason (Michelle) Napier, Chris (Jennifer) Ross, both of Lower Burrell, Timothy (Kristen) Ross, of Saxonburg, Ryan (Frances) Rybicki, of Newport Beach, Calif., Mark Muslin, of Chippewa Township and Keith Murdoch, of Hopewell Township; nieces, Erin (John) Dippel, of Natrona Heights, Jesseca Muslin, of Chippewa Township and Christina Murdoch, of Hopewell Township; and by his god daughter, Robyn Parison, of Sarver. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Thomas Ross.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM.
