Robert J. Glowacki, 83, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born November 10, 1933, in Natrona Heights to the late John R. and Jean Kaminski Glowacki. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Har Brack High School and was veteran serving as a MP and tank driver in the US Army. After high school Bob did a 4 year machinist apprenticeship with ALCOA receiving his journeymen papers. He worked as a machinist for 26 years at ALCOA in New Kensington and finished his working career as a machinist for Edgar Industries in Lower Burrell for 18 years. Bob was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Natrona Heights and a former member of VFW Post 894 in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, raising and watching blue birds, watching the Penguins, his cat, Subee, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons sporting events. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Yangula Glowacki; daughters, Marian (Keith) Wright, of Springboro and Michelle (Todd) Woodhall, of Waynesville, MO.; grandsons, Brian (Shelly) Wright, Ryan Woodhall, Aaron (Madeline) Woodhall and Chad Wright; great granddaughter, Brianna Wright; brothers, Ronald (Carma) Glowacki, of Mentor, Ohio and Thomas (Sandy) Glowacki, of Brandon, Florida; sister, Mary Ann Kepple, of Buffalo Township; brother-in-law, Charles Yangula, of Karns City; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gary Kepple.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with the Rev. Aaron Kriss as celebrant. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. A Parish Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:45 PM in the funeral home followed by the reciting of the rosary by the Rosary Society.
