Ronald Beacom, 83, formerly of Fawn Township, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg, where he was a resident for the past two years. He was born March 10, 1932, in Lower Burrell, to the late Miller G. Beacom and Ida Wolford Beacom. Ronald had lived in the area all of his life. He was a truck driver for several years with Burrell Construction, and retired from Medrad in Indianola as an assembly line operator. He served in Alaska in the Army as a private first class. Ronald was a member of the Lower Burrell VFW and a former member of the New Kensington Moose. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing horseshoes. Survivors include his son, Denny (Leigh Ann) Beacom, of Worthington; two daughters, Diane Hall, of Fawn Township, and Michelle (Ron) Gray, of Fawn Township; grandchildren, Ryan (Natalie) Hall, Kaylie (Brian) Hall, D.J. Beacom and Hannah Beacom. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 49 years, Donna (Myers) Beacom, Aug. 14, 2008; brothers, Virgil, Norman, Marlin and Gray Beacom; and sisters, Lois Weister, Arlene Wilson, Pauline Ellwood and Shirley McConnaughey.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. James Mazurek. Private burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tarentum VFW Post 5758.
