Ronald G. Koedel, 78, of Natrona, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 10, 1945, in Natrona Heights to the late George & Helen (Thompson) Koedel. Ron was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Navy. He worked for Phillips Cabinet Shop in Natrona Heights for 30 years and retired from Waste Management. Ron was a member of the P.N.A. and American Legion Post 48 both in Natrona. He enjoyed computer and video games and in his younger years was in bowling and horseshoe leagues. Ron also played bass guitar and was in several local bands over the years. Ron is survived by his long time love and fiance, Clara Stone, daughter, Rhonda (Anthony) Farone, stepsons, Frank Stone (Jayme Maudhuit) and Stacy (Kim) Koedel, grandson, Rocco Farone, sister, June Jones, fiance's mother, Connie Hoak and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Vernon and Melvin Koedel, sister, Virginia Simmers and by his fiance's father, George Hoak.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
