Ronald H. Wygonik

November 7, 1942 — February 26, 2017

Ronald H. Wygonik, 74, of Plum Borough, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 in UPMC Seneca Place, Verona. He was born November 7, 1942, in Natrona Heights to the late Henry J. and Jane Stokwisz Wygonik. Ron was a 1960 graduate of Ken High and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He retired in 1997 after 37 years of service as a mechanical engineer at the Alcoa Technical Center. Ron was a member of St. Januarius R.C. Church in Plum Borough. He enjoyed cars, golfing and his trips to the casinos. Ron is survived by his beloved wife and best friend whom he married on August 23, 2013, Deborah Bergstrom Wygonik; sister, Evelyn (George) Arvay, of Plum Borough; nephews, Joshua Arvay, of Penn Hills, Jonathan (Katie) Arvay, of Gibsonia and James (April) Arvay, of New Kensington; great nephews and niece, Liam, Nolan and Adalie Arvay; step daughter, Crystal (Chuck) Hazlett, of Lower Burrell; and grandchildren, Kaylee & Trevor Hazlett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Bliazis Wygonik. Ron's family would like to thank the entire staff at UPMC Seneca Place for their loving care and support.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc. 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in St. Januarius Church with his pastor the Rev. John McKenna as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In liue of flowers, contributions in memory of Ron may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 135 Pakrinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
